How this works

The score

Once a day a worker collects the last twenty-four hours of the physical world and compiles it into a single payload. That payload seeds everything: the visuals and the music are two readings of the same numbers.

Moon illumination: musical mode - new moon is Locrian dark, full moon Lydian bright
Day of year: tonic, walking the circle of fifths
Solar wind speed: tempo, 250–800 km/s becomes 44–92 BPM
Geomagnetic Kp: dissonance - a storm on the sun sours the harmony
Earthquake count: how dense the piece is
Each earthquake: one drum strike: depth picks the voice, magnitude the force, longitude the stereo position

The channels

Three instruments read the same day. Resonance is a Chladni plate: sand on a vibrating disc gathers along the nodal lines, which is sound made literally visible. Tremor replays the day's seismicity across a lattice Earth. Aurora is the solar wind arriving at the magnetosphere.
